This training is specifically designed to help EMDR Therapists deepen their understanding and practical use of interweaves during reprocessing. Whether you’re refining your technique or exploring new strategies, this course provides the tools and insights to enhance your clinical effectiveness.

Building on foundational knowledge, you’ll gain the confidence to effectively integrate EMDR interweaves, helping you better support your clients’ through reprocessing their more challenging target memories.

This advanced EMDR training teaches clinicians the following three components:

This 4.0 hour program is delivered ON-DEMAND. The on-demand link will be accessible for a 90-day period.

Training Instructor

Kara Nossardi, LMFT

Kara is the Director of Training and founder of EMDR Education and Training Center, as well as an EMDRIA Approved Trainer, Approved Consultant, and Certified EMDR Therapist.

Kara has been a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist since 2014 and currently practices in California, Colorado, and Florida, where she specializes in using attachment-focused EMDR Therapy in the treatment of complex Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), depression, and anxiety.

Attendance

Participants must attend all four hours of the training day and complete the practice exercises, post-test, and evaluation in order to earn CE credits and receive documentation indicating completion of this training.

Eligibility

EMDR Trained

To participate in an Advanced EMDR Training, you must have successfully completed an EMDRIA Approved Basic Training in EMDR Therapy.

Licensed

To be accepted to EETC’s Training programs in EMDR Therapy, you must be licensed for independent practice as a mental health clinician or meet alternate EMDR International Association eligibility criteria.

Pre-licensed

Graduate students and post-graduate pre-licensed clinicians are eligible to participate in our trainings, and we offer a pre-licensed discount to Associates and Interns.

Curriculum Overview

Learning Outcomes

  1. Describe the ways in which the EMDR concepts of activation, dual-attention, and synthesis are related to interweave creation and administration;
  2. List Shapiro’s five elements of a memory network;
  3. Name Leed’s sixth element of a memory network;
  4. Describe two intended consequences of using EMDR interweaves;
  5. Explain the primary four situations in which interweaves are used;
  6. Name the ‘Three Important Questions’ related to Interweave creation;
  7. Explain how the relationship between the client, the target memory, and the client’s last reports between sets of BLS impact interweave selection;
  8. Recognize which interweave to use by the thematic domains of responsibility, safety, and choices;
  9. Describe the relationship between compassion interweaves and externalizing responsibility interweaves;
  10. List two categories (types) of safety interweaves;
  11. List two categories (types) of choice interweaves;
  12. Describe the intended use for each the ten categories of commonly used interweaves; and
  13. Provide at least one interweave example for each of the ten categories of commonly used interweaves.

Attendance

Participants must view the training in its entirety and actively participate in all elements (lecture video, practice sessions, post-test with 80%, and course evaluation) in order to earn CE credit and receive documentation of completion of the training.

Practice

For on-demand participants, practice exercises can be done individually. Practice exercises are reviewed in the training video recording.

CE Credits

EMDR Education and Training Center is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) and the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) to sponsor continuing education. EMDR Education and Training Center maintains responsibility for thisprogram and its content.

The EMDR Interweaves training at EETC is approved for 4.0 APA and EMDRIA credits for successful completion of all required elements of this on-demand training.

FAQs

Can anyone take this Advance Training?

All participants must have completed an EMDRIA Approved Basic Training in EMDR Therapy to participate in this training.

What is the structure of the training schedule?

This four hour training integrates lecture, clinical examples, and practice exercises.

How can I access the On-Demand option?

All registered participants will receive a link to the on-demand training. This link will be valid for a total of 90 days.

I am an Associate who wants to register. Does my supervisor need to be EMDR Trained?

If you are not yet licensed, your supervisor need not be trained in EMDR Therapy, but should be supportive of your using EMDR Therapy.

Most of my clients have complex, co-occurring conditions. Will this training help me with them?

Yes! The EMDR Interweaves curriculum is organized to address the fact that most clinicians see relatively few cases of single incident trauma and, instead, see mostly complex cases with co-occurring conditions.

As such, this Advanced Training builds on the knowledge and skills learned in Basic Training to give participants the confidence to successfully utilized EMDR Interweaves during EMDR reprocessing with complex cases.
